Dr. Michael P. Moriarty, P.C. complies with applicable Federal civil rights laws and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex.
Due to the requirements of Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act and the allowed exceptions due to a:
- Fundamental alteration in nature of practice, or
- Undue financial and administrative burdens
Dr. Michael P. Moriarty, P.C. will not be able to provide free aids and services to people with disabilities or ESL to communicate effectively with us. There are no funding sources available to the clinic for this additional administrative and financial burden required by the Affordable Care Act under Section 1557 if one receives government payments like Medicaid or Medicare.
If it is found that we cannot rely on these exceptions to the rule, then Dr. Michael P. Moriarty, P.C. will have no choice but to cease as a Medicaid provider.
